Luckily there are some herbal remedies that one can use to soothe the effects of toothache.

Garlic

Sticky plague that eats through the enamel of your teeth is the main reason for tooth decay. Garlic has long been used for its medicinal properties, which include allicin. Yes, it will give you garlic breath for a while, but if it helps relieve the pain, why not? Garlic consists of antibacterial as well as antiseptic properties, so it will kill the bacteria causing you to suffer. It will also minimize inflammation of gums. Crush one clove of garlic and place it on the affected area. Hold it in your mouth for no less than half an hour.

Pepper Powder

Pepper has proven to be great for your digestive system. It reduces gas and acid formation in your stomach, thereby illuminating a lot of digestive problems. Except for that, it also has antibacterial properties that can help kill harmful bacteria in your mouth. It will provide you with immediate relief to toothache. Apply pepper powder on the affected tooth.

Bay berry bark

Many people have used this as a remedy for tooth pain. It soothes the gums and will provide immediate relief from pain. You can mash up the bark of bay berry and add a bit of vinegar. Make sure that the vinegar is distilled. Vinegar also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Go on by applying the paste to the affected area.

Peppermint

Peppermint has soothing qualities that will allow you to feel less pain. Peppermint calms the body and the nerves so this will lessen the intensity of tooth pain. Boil peppermint leaves in water and add a pinch of salt. Drink this and feel your pain subside.

Spinach leaves

Chewing raw spinach leaves will help strengthen teeth and this will prevent decaying gums.

Eugenol Oil

One of the oldest remedies for tooth pain is a clove. Eugenol is the oil of gloves and it is used in many dental products as well as toothpastes. Cloves are a natural painkiller. Soak a cotton ball with a few drops of Euganol and place it on the affected area. You can also place it inside the tooth cavity. This will cause instant relief. Alternatively, chew on a few whole cloves to release the oil within. It will have the exact same affect.

Vanilla Extract

Vanilla Extract is also a great remedy. Soak a cotton ball with vanilla extract and apply it to the affected area. If you do not have vanilla you can also soak a cotton ball in Almond extract, peppermint extract or lemon extract. It will have the same affect.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is my final remedy for toothache. You only need to use one or two drops. It should do the trick. You can also soak a cotton ball with the oil and hold in place. Alternatively, add a few drops of tea tree oil to a small glass of lukewarm to warm water and hold it in your mouth for 30 seconds.

Growing tumors under the root of the tooth will result in toothache. The tooth will be extracted if the tumor is not detected right away. Even though this is the worst-case scenario, it might still be the reason for your toothache, especially if it persists over a long period of time.

Rest assured that as long as you have good oral hygiene and you visit your dentist at least twice a year, you can avoid this from happening.

You have to make an appointment with your doctor if the pain persists. Sometimes, the help of an expert is needed.
